Fancy Faust or The Benefits of Establishing A Feline Canon

Though the proliferation of feline-centered humor validates the usurpation of the patriarchal "family dog" construct in contemporary society, there has been little to no credible documentation of this upheaval. And despite its ubiquitous appreciation, absolutely no effort has been made to establish a body of source texts from which to reference and derive inspiration.
This yawning void cries out; desperate for and desirous of our analytic kibble.
And so I call for the establishment of a "Cat Canon"; a fundamental set of rules and principles that document the origin of our current fancy and provide a referential guide of source texts from which contemporary cat humorists can derive further inspiration.
Such wanton negligence is unreasonable! We must substantiate our roles as caretakers and enthusiasts of felines and call it our duty, compulsion even, to establish a body of work worthy of their species!

Penelope in Traffic School

I rarely think 'funny' is funny but I can get behind this. Kristin Wiig is fantastic! It's too bad they had her play wet cardboard in Whip It.

Know Your Meme

Behold the world as we know it deconstructed into a series of extremely palatable Excel documents and (distinctly non-viral) videos. Great loathsome science! Be sure to check out the Ninjas vs. Pirates popularity trend data that dates all the day back to 2004 (back when the argument was actually pirates vs. ninjas vs. robots)!

"Ambling Alp" by Yeasayer

Please take a moment to watch Yeasayer's latest video, taken from their (leaked) album Odd Blood. Even if you've watched it before, do it again and marvel. It's art like this that makes the thousands even worth living.
